Masanori Maeda Joins AIFA
AIFA is thrilled to start exhibiting Masanori Maeda's works, beautiful representations of a vibrant Japanese contemporary art scene.
Masanori Maeda's paintings are structured around horizontal or vertical layered blocks of alternating colours. Involving constant negotiation between calm and vitality and a balance between light and shadows; plunging the viewer into an almost meditative state.
Masanori has exhibited worldwide at art fairs and in solo exhibitions. His artworks found their way into institutional collections in Japan such as the Ryumon Temple Collection and the Tokyo University of the Arts.

AIFA Gallery, in collaboration with Ms Mooser, a specialist in traditional Kintsugi, invites you to explore one of the fascinating aspects of Japanese culture. More than just a technique for repairing ceramics, Kintsugi embodies a philosophy: Wabi-Sabi, a celebration of imperfection, transience and the beauty of the traces of time. A true immersion in contemporary Japanese culture. Guided by Ms Mooser's expertise, each participant will have the opportunity to enhance a piece of ceramics, transforming fragility into brilliance. It is also an opportunity to experience a moment of slowness and contemplation while discovering the depth of Japanese art through the various works on display in the gallery. Since 2018, AIFA's mission has been to promote Japanese art beyond its borders, particularly in Switzerland. The art of Kintsugi is a unique example of this: it is not just a technique, but a philosophical approach that invites serenity and reflection. Surrounded by contemporary creations, you will be at the heart of a dialogue between tradition and modernity, where each piece reflects today's Japanese sensibility and aesthetics.
