Japanese Whisky Tasting
As part of the exhibition What Cannot Be Said, bringing together Japanese artists Yoichiro Otani and Chisato Yasui, Galerie AIFA in Verbier hosted a Japanese whisky tasting on Saturday, March 28.
Conceived as an extension of the exhibition, this event created a meeting point between different expressions of Japanese culture. Within the gallery space, visitors were invited to discover a selection of Japanese whiskies in a subtle dialogue with the artworks on view.
For this occasion, Figee, a Zurich-based company, guided the tasting and shared its expertise, offering insight into the history and craftsmanship behind this tradition.

What Cannot Be Said is a duo show bringing together the works of Chisato Yasui and Yoichiro Otani. Through ceramic sculptures and mixed-media paintings, the exhibition shows forms of expression where meaning is shaped by perception, material, and time rather than verbal articulations.

Kintsugi Workshop
AIFA Gallery, in collaboration with Ms Mooser, a specialist in traditional Kintsugi, invites you to explore one of the fascinating aspects of Japanese culture. More than just a technique for repairing ceramics, Kintsugi embodies a philosophy: Wabi-Sabi, a celebration of imperfection, transience and the beauty of the traces of time.
Guided by Ms Mooser's expertise, each participant has the opportunity to enhance a piece of ceramics, transforming fragility into brilliance. It is also an opportunity to experience a moment of slowness and contemplation while discovering the depth of Japanese art through the various works on display.
Since 2018, AIFA's mission has been to promote Japanese art beyond its borders, particularly in Switzerland. The art of Kintsugi is a unique example of this: it is not just a technique, but a philosophical approach that invites serenity and reflection.
