How can artists express the passing of time, record feelings, or contextualize the enigmatic quality of their artwork? How can they transcend mere representation and manifest the invisible? Reiko’s paintings and Chisato’s ceramic sculptures assume the role of storytellers, evoking emotions and unravelling the tapestry of past and present.

Reiko’s brushstrokes seize the essence of time’s passage within her paintings. When looking at her works, one becomes aware that something once occupied the canvas, yet now, it has vanished. Only the silhouette, the memory of the shape, remains after time has passed. Reiko is fascinated by the idea of time and how it affects us in our lives. She firmly believes that the timing of events and our human destiny are inextricably intertwined.

Their pieces explore liminal spaces, a threshold between the known and the unknown, consciousness and the unconscious. Both artists challenge established assumptions, offer alternative perspectives, and invite viewers to consider the complexity of our existence.
